Jon McPike
Jon McPike has over 36 years of skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation hospital experience in Texas. He began his career as an Activities Director in a skilled nursing facility before becoming a licensed administrator. He dedicated 4 years as the Assistant Director for the Dallas County Ombudsman Program for the Texas Department of Aging. As a patient advocate, he was responsible for resolving complaints by working with regulatory surveyors, facility management, and nursing home residents for all 60 skilled nursing facilities in Dallas County. During this time, Jon was a regular participant at the National Citizens’ Coalition for Nursing Home Reform’s national conference.
Jon has also owned and operated a skilled nursing facility company, successfully managing the company through the Chapter 11 Bankruptcy process.
During his career as an administrator, he created new product lines and services to grow business and increase operating revenue - implementing the first $1 million sub-acute unit within a SNF in Tarrant County. He was asked by one of the company’s senior executives to join him with a new startup company. As the Area Administrator, he led six acquired facilities through the acquisition transition process and successful Change of Ownership surveys. He was then recruited to complete the opening of a new 120-bed SNF in south Texas and a new 120-bed SNF in DFW. This success led to the Executive Director position for a 120-bed skilled Alzheimer’s facility.
Jon transitioned to the hospital sector as the Chief Executive Officer of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth. The hospital achieved and sustained stellar financial, operational, and clinical results. Jon received several national and regional awards recognizing his leadership and achievements as a hospital CEO. In addition, his hospital enjoyed the highest patient satisfaction, highest occupancy %, highest employee satisfaction, and the best licensure survey results of all 14 hospitals in Texas.
Jon has been asked to serve on several different Board member positions of key associations, i.e. Alzheimer’s Association, Arthritis Foundation, to name a few. He is a proven healthcare leader with a strong foundation as a patient advocate.
